Rene Plaetevoet is one of the founders of December 18, an NGO (non-governmental organisation) based in Brussels, which campaigns for migrants' rights. December 18 is also the organisation behind Radio 1812.

In this interview he talks about December 18 and its work, about International Migrants' Day and about Radio 1812; he also comments on public perceptions of migration and media influence on those perceptions.

With less than a month left, yes it is true that its getting "une peu chargee" ici!..But that why were here, and being busy is good news for the radio marathon!

I was wondering actually, who is participating from your network?. I ask as we have a number of lat year's UK participants for whom we have no contact details, they are Connexion/CY Fm, Resonance, Desi radio etc. Do these belong to your group?.

We are pleased to be here. Felixstowe has the largest container port in the country so we get plenty of visitors - and with our new sandy beach at the end of the A14 (what a nice easy drive) we could be a place to visit.
